An Ecofriendly Company
Since 1931, Maritime Paper has achieved a number of eco-initiatives, including the following:
​ Air system improvements which reduce level of energy needed
​ Dual fuel capabilities that maximize efficiency and minimize carbon emissions
​ High-pressure condensate boiler recovery system
​ Innovative, environmentally sensitive coatings and inks
​ Ongoing audits and upgrades to lighting systems
​ Reduced plant water consumption by over 20% through new starch system technology
Unique Causes Our Company Supports
Maritime Paper is part of a team Food Bank Initiative within the Scotia Investments Group of Companies. There are 5 companies involved in this initiative. The focus of the group is to work with employees to make each community we live in a better place and to provide food to those in need.
Maritime paper is the sole provider of the FEED NS Boxes.
The company also makes various box donation to local charities. We donate over 20,000 in kind boxes a year to various food banks,
church organizations and the Salvation Army.
We often donate boxes to Schools and Art Design programs for Art projects.
Maritime Paper also donates to United Way through weekly payroll deductions
The proceeds from our employee weekly Jeans Day and our annual office coffee goes directly to the IWK Hospital.
Maritime Paper participated in Stuff a Bus! 300 lbs of food was donated by the employees in 2022.
